MEDICAL TOURISM

This niche entails travel that focuses on preventive to rehabilitative and curative treatments offered in addiction centers, obesity centers, cancer treatment centers, and mental health & wellness centers. Holistic health care is a business opportunity that falls under wellness tourism to promote health and well-being.

Aruba wants to attract proactive tourists seeking to improve or maintain health and quality of life. Tourists/patients that receive treatment for a diagnosed disease or condition also fall under this category.

INSTITUTO MEDICO SAN NICOLAS (IMSAN)

Instituto Medico San Nicolas (ImSan) was renovated in 2020 and includes the first oncology radiation center in Aruba in collaboration with the Baptist Health International and Miami Cancer Institute. The center provides the latest radiation oncology treatments, reducing the need for patients to travel abroad for radiotherapy.

The collaboration between ImSan and Baptist Health International of South Florida offers the infrastructure to further develop medical tourism in San Nicolas.
