The Netherlands Supports the Growth of Aruba’s Orange Economy
Aruba is taking a major step to boost its Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI) sector, also known as the Orange Economy. The Ministry of Finance, Economic Affairs and Primary Sector, led by Minister Geoffrey Wever, announced that the Netherlands is investing USD 151,200 via the Tijdelijke Werkorganisatie (TWO). This funding will create a solid framework for the sector’s growth. The project includes a strategic vision, an action plan, and an incentive package. Together, these tools will spark investment, strengthen entrepreneurship, and unlock Aruba’s creative potential.
Building a Strong Foundation for the Creative Economy
Since 2018, Aruba has recognized the Orange Economy as a sector full of cultural and economic promise. Today, it stands at the center of the island’s diversification strategy.
Minister Wever explained:
“The creative and cultural sector is a driver of innovation and growth for Aruba’s economy. With the financial support of the Netherlands, we will establish a coherent framework that creates a solid foundation for the sustainable growth of this sector and contributes to the diversification of Aruba’s economy.”
To ensure transparency, the government will launch a public tender for the strategic vision and action plan. In the coming weeks, a call for proposals will invite experts and organizations to help shape the future of Aruba’s creative economy.
A Sector of Opportunity for Investors
This framework will empower local talent while creating investment-ready opportunities for international and regional investors. Aruba is moving quickly toward a structured and incentive-backed CCI ecosystem. This shift opens the door to partnerships in creative industries as well as cultural heritage and tourism experiences.
By investing in Aruba’s CCI, investors join a dynamic ecosystem where culture, creativity, and innovation fuel economic growth.
Join Aruba’s Orange Economy
The Government of Aruba and ARINA are laying the groundwork for a vibrant, investor-ready creative sector. With incentives on the way, a public tender about to launch, and strong support from the Netherlands, now is the perfect moment to explore opportunities in Aruba’s Orange Economy.
