The ‘Aruba Office’ is now open for business at Holland House Colombia

May 25, 2023

On May 24, 2023, Minister Geoffrey Wever officially inaugurated the ‘Aruba Office’ at Holland House Colombia in the presence of the Dutch Ambassador, Mr. Ernst Noorman, the Director of Holland House Colombia, Mr. Jan-Willem van Bokhoven, the President of the Chamber of Commerce Aruba, Mr. Gavril Mansur, the Director of the Department of Economic Affairs, Mrs. Maria Dijkhoff-Pita, and the commercial delegation of Aruba. With a dedicated physical office, Aruba hopes to facilitate more trade between the two countries, assist Aruban businesses interested in doing business in Colombia, and give information and support to potential investors and entrepreneurs from Colombia interested in the Aruban market.

Minister Wever recently signed an agreement with Holland House Colombia. This agreement is a continuation of what the private sector of Aruba initiated with Holland House a few years ago. Since then, five (5) companies were set up in Colombia, most recently including IBS Aruba. Moreover, approximately 60 entrepreneurs showed interest in the Colombian market, and more than 350 Colombian businessmen showed interest in doing business with Aruba.

Holland House Colombia, a public-private and non-profit initiative, has been operational since 2003, with 380 affiliated members and a staff of approximately 25 people. Holland House Colombia is the largest bilateral chamber of commerce in Colombia and from Holland in the world. It has ample experience assisting Dutch companies that want to do business with companies from Colombia. Holland House actively works to promote and facilitate trade and investments between Colombia and the Dutch Caribbean islands. It oversees, among other things, the establishment of businesses in Colombia and vice versa.
