San Nicolas Pop-Up Market: A New Chapter in Aruba’s Sunrise City
San Nicolas is entering an exciting new phase in its transformation. On Saturday, September 27, 2025, the first San Nicolas Pop-Up Market will open at Plaza Lolita. The monthly event will bring local entrepreneurs, artisans, and the community together in a lively setting. The Ministry of Finance, Economic Affairs and Primary Sector is supporting this initiative as part of its commitment to local growth. Minister Geoffrey Wever stressed that the market will boost economic activity, create opportunities for small businesses, and strengthen the revitalization of San Nicolas.
A platform for entrepreneurs
The first edition will feature 16 vendors offering art, crafts, local products, food, and drinks. Families can also enjoy entertainment such as a dino jump for children. Over time, the market will grow to include fresh produce from local farmers, connecting agriculture directly to residents and visitors. This monthly event gives entrepreneurs a chance to test products, reach new audiences, and build visibility. At the same time, it offers locals and tourists a place to enjoy authentic Aruban creativity and culture.
Driving transformation in San Nicolas
The Pop-Up Market is one of many efforts driving the city’s renewal. Together with infrastructure upgrades and cultural initiatives, it gives people another reason to visit San Nicolas. With street art, festivals, and now this new market, the city is steadily becoming a destination of opportunity.
Opportunities on the horizon
Looking ahead, the Sunrise Market near Lolita Park will provide a permanent home for local commerce. Until then, the Pop-Up Market builds momentum and shows how much potential San Nicolas has to offer. Together, these initiatives create space for new investment, stronger communities, and inclusive growth.
The Ministry invites residents and visitors to join the first Pop-Up Market on September 27 from 9 AM to 3 PM at Plaza Lolita. Come see how San Nicolas is transforming into Aruba’s vibrant Sunrise City.
